The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival has awarded three honors to a Hampton Roads production.

“Tanners Point” – part reality TV, part sitcom and part marketing tool – was named best reality show, best ensemble cast and best soundtrack. What’s more, the series, produced by Rex Motion Media of Virginia Beach, is being picked up by ITN Distribution for presentation at the Cannes Film Market.

It was announced that Tanners Point is a three time award recipient from the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF) 2009. Tanners wins for Best Reality Show, Best Ensemble, and Best Soundtrack. Also announced, ITN Distribution will represent the television program at Marche de Cannes. An official NYIIFVF News Release is being issued today.

Jay’s in the Pink, Dennis is on the Brink, and someone causes a Stink! Caution, Dino, you may be about to enter the No Win Zone! When an ex-employee of Sundays Blue Box comes back to the Beach, Dennis finds himself face to (gorgeous) face with beauty, brains and bucks – lotsa bucks. Friend or foe? Youll have to watch Episode 3 to find out. Youll also witness the birth of the Sundays street team, as well as the innocent comment that launches The Big Idea and sends Jay (and Uncle Pat) into orbit. Oh yeah, the JRCS discover that payback can be a real stinker!

Tanners Point has its New York Premiere this Sunday at the historic Village East Cinemas during the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. Sundays Blue Box Tanning Resort Takes to the Small Screen

One thing that leaders in every industry have in common is the uncanny ability to think outside the box.
It was this special gift that put Salon Owner Dennis Liggon in the position he is in today. The owner of ten successful tanning salons is planning the premiere party for his new reality television show, which is set to air on March 15. The new TV show called Tanners Point, with a positive outlook on tanning and a smart balance between entertainment and documentation, aims to be a crowd-pleaser….

Nearly 500 people crowded into the Wynham Hotel on Virginia Beach’s oceanfront to attend the Tanners Point Red Carpet Gala Event. The evening included a fashion show by April Spring’s “Foxers.” Highlight performances were turned in by Jay Bellamy, Jackmove, and The Atlantic, whose song “What’s the Point” serves as the show’s theme.

Execution surpassed expectations as the evening more than lived up to its promise. Attendees ranging from cast, crew, and the Sundays Blue Box Tanning Resort team to WTKR, WVEC, WAVY, FOX News, The Virginian-Pilot, The Daily Press, AP, and The Virginia Film Office, Virginia Beach City Council Members and publishers of the tanning industry’s top publications all celebrated together.

Helps that the food and Verve were top notch as well. Gotta feed those hungry cast, crew and media folks
