As an Actor Mr. Marten has worked with Harry Dean Stanton (“still committed Harry!”), Frank Langella (“see you later Frank.”), Academy Award winners Jason Robards, Piper Laurie, Jose Ferrer and Whoopi Goldberg. He has also been featured as Irving Berlin in George Lucas’s Young Indiana Jones Chronicles for ABC Television and in the Hollywood Pictures film Eddie. His Stage credits span more than twenty years and have seen him in Festival Productions of Shakespeare’s Tempest, Equity Productions of Hamlet, and New York’s Emelin Theatre Productions of A Midsummer Nights Dream. (“Dee O’B — you are to blame for all this!”)

Mr. Marten first started working behind the camera in 1988 with Craig and Mark Fincannon on Buzz Kulick’s Too Young the Hero. He has since worked in front of or behind the camera with LUCAS FILMS, HOLLYWOOD PICTURES, DISCOVERY CHANNEL, FAMILY CHANNEL, NEW DOMINION PICTURES, and NASA.

“My Father, Albert, was a pioneer of the modern motion picture industry,” Marten says “Being one of the first to take Hollywood production off-shore to locations in Europe after the second world war, and introducing the concept of the completion bond to the industry in the United States. He arranged financing for more than 150 features, as well as several television series and Broadway plays. He, my brother Richard (President of Star Circle Pictures), and my family built Virginia’s first full-service motion picture studio.”

Mr. Marten received Secret Service clearance, and was one of the youngest print journalists covering the Presidential Campaign of 1980 in Sacramento.

During the 1970’s he generally ran the streets of Larchmont and Mamaroneck, NY; played a lot of baseball; and ate a lot of Sal’s Sicilian Pizza.
