Dennis Ligon spent a full day at Rex Motion Media today, rolling from one meeting to the next. Studio Center Prime Minister of Sales and Marketing for Video Nina James was joined by Producer Brian Bartusiak to help present the latest commercial concepts for Sundays Blue Box Tanning Salon. It was theatre in the round for Dennis as he got the live show and television tribute. Production of the new spots will take place the week of January 12!

Rex Motion Media is fast forwarding Pre-Production of its new television series. The Hampton Roads-based media company will have assembled its crew for the new series to be shot in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and other locations throughout Southeastern Virginia.

We’re creating an enhanced reality experience. What does that mean? It’s a hybrid of sitcom, reality, docudrama, and behind the scenes. And, what does that mean? You’ll have to keep your dial tuned to this blog to find out!

As for casting, final decisions are being made – even as we blog!

Wrapping up the first day of auditions, and looking forward to tomorrow. The Rex Team saw many talented professionals, and lots of fresh, and energetic hopefuls.

Didn’t think we would be rolling as much tape, but there was so much worth while to capture. Thank you all for your enthusiasm for the project, and what youbrought to the audition process.

Most showed on time, and Rex was able to get people in on time and, amazingly, out on time. Hopefully, no one felt rushed. Thank you to new Rexers Tess Whittaker, and Recel Bregaudit for keeping Norvell, Sarah, Emile, and myself on perfect time.

The interviews for crew have been amazing. Generation Rex couldn’t be happier with the turnout and the quality of candidates.

REX Motion Media, a television/video production company and advertising agency headquartered in Hampton Roads, is seeking lighting and sound technicians for an upcoming Independent TV project.

Lighting tech should have own multi-instrument package and the ability to run and gun. Sound tech will need to provide full sound package, including boom(s), and be able to mix off his/her hip.

Pay will be commensurate with ability, experience and equipment.

First day of production is slated for end of December, in and around Hampton Roads, and will continue for up to 20 days, spread throughout January, probably into February.

A hard fought Virginia Beach Mayoral Campaign is ending with controversy. What could have been a final victory lap for Mayor Meyera Oberndorf in this hotly contested four person race is now a tarnished vicotory for Will Sessoms. This is a very sad way to end the election.

Virginia Beach Mayor Meyera E. Oberndorf spent an informative hour on air with WNIS Talk Show Hosts Tony Macrini and Dave Parker Tuesday. The Mayor addressed her role as Virginia Beach Mayor, leadership, and Vision for her next four years in office.

Virginia Beach Mayor Meyera Oberndorf’s campaign is quick-stepping toward November 4. The campaign continues it’s momentum, receiving it’s single largest contribution to date from Stihl Corporation.

Second Congressional District Candidate Glenn Nye is stylin in his Virginia Beach Mayor Meyera Oberndorf fashion ensemble!

Mayoral challenger Will Sessoms received a Cease and Desist letter from Sherryl Crow Attorney Jay Cooper. He had been using her song, A Change Would Do You Good for months in his campaign video. Unfortunately, he never paid-to-play nor did he receive permission from the artist. To quote Mr. Sessoms’ spokesman from a July 3 Virginian-Pilot article; “Using people’s names without having their permission in an election year isn’t very cool.” So Mr. Sessoms, out of tune with intellectual property laws, made a few changes of his own and, removed the video and song from the site.
